My 1st trip to The Jake!

On Sunday morning we got up and headed to my first Indian’s game at Jacob’s Field. Earlier this year, the stadium was changed to Progressive Field but as the t-shirt I got for Joecken said “Real Fans Know it’s The Jake”. We were quite lucky that Damon Taseff had scored his company’s work seats but couldn’t use them because he had already planned on going to the game with his wife, brothers, and mom as part of Mrs. Taseff’s Mother’s Day present. So while they sat in the upper deck, Kurt and I enjoyed the game from our seats 5 rows behind home plate. The seats really were a great way to see my first game so Thanks Damon!!

The day started off great. It had finally stopped raining after a week straight and it was 80 degrees and sunny. In town were Ken Griffey Jr. and the Cincinnatti Reds. The Reds broke the scoreless game in the 5th inning and that’s when the rain started. The Reds kept scoring and we ran for cover. It continued to rain off and on for most of the afternoon and the highlight of the game was seeing Grady Sizemore hit a home run. So for my first game in Cleveland, the Indian’s lost 9-5. Bummer but still a great day. Below are some pictures of how the day progessed.

One other great thing about the game is that the Ohio Lottery was there just giving out scratch tickets. I won $24 in the tickets they gave me!! Amazing, that’s like 2 beers and a brat right there. I love the motto & advertising for the Ohio Lottery – they like to point out that if you play the lottery you are really helping Ohio schools. I think that’s true of all state lotteries but leave it to Ohio to make you feel good about gambling. OIO!
