Beal’s Bend(er)

We had the funnest weekend of the summer so far during Beal’s Bender 2008. One of the best things about moving to Cleveland is that we get to use Mr. & Mrs. Beal’s lake home is Sandusky as much as we want. Sandusky is a short one hour drive for us and we always find it so relaxing and peaceful. For the past few years we’ve picked one weekend each summer to have our very best friends come party with us. This year we had the Joeckens, Flanagans, Ruples, Nowaks, and Molloys take part in the festivities. On Friday night the ladies celebrated the Nowak’s recent engagement with 8 bottles of champagne and the boys stayed up until 5am (which was a violation of the 11pm quiet rule the old lady across the channel rudely told us about the next day).

Saturday was our big day of debauchery as we all took the Jet Express Ferry to Put-in Bay Island. For someone who’s never been to PIB, it’s hard to describe but imagine Indiana hillbilly farmers on Spring Break with Mardi Gras beads. We had a great day bar hopping from the Frosty’s to the Beer Barrel to dinner at the Boardwalk and finishing the night with fishbowls and dancing at Fishbowl. There were a couple other stops in between but it all got a little fuzzy. The highlight of the entire evening was when Steve Nowak bought a pair of hot pink capri sweats and matching fitted tank top from the souvenier shop and decided he needed to dance around the bar. We are really glad all of our friends made the trip and hope everyone had a great time!

I’ll post more pictures on our Flickr account soon.
