Somebody send FEMA!!

On Sunday evening, we returned home to a pitch black neighborhood and house. As we drove down the streets near our home, we saw tree branches blown around everywhere. We had no idea that while we were in the Browns game that Hurricane Ike had torn through Cleveland and left most of the city without power for a little bit. We usually just rely on the garage door opener to get in but luckily Kurt had grabbed our house key so we were able to get in the house. By Monday morning, most of the city had power back on but not Bay Village. I now realize my addiction to media: I love TV, I love DVR, I love the internet, I love my cell phone, and I especially love Facebook. I had a hard time and after about 24 hours thought I was going to go crazy!! Brownie loved it though because she got a lot more walks in the daytime and there were sticks everywhere for her to chew. By Tuesday without power or a cell phone, I was going to start sending smoke signals to have FEMA come save me. We decided to head up to the lake as the news was reporting that it could be up to 5 days without power for our small community. I came home on Wednesday and the power was back on and life could finally get back to normal. We are very thankful that our home and none of our nieghbors home suffered any major damage. Several homes in Bay Village had trees through their roofs and one even caught on fire from candles.
