NFL Hall of Fame Induction

This weekend we took Henry to his first big sporting event.  We headed down to Canton, Ohio to see the Enshrinement Ceremony for NFL Hall of Fame.  We went to see one of the best Chief’s players ever, Derrick Thomas, get inducted in.  Thomas had a great career with the Kansas City Chiefs but died tragically in 2000 from injuries due to a car accident.  At the Enshrinement Ceremony, his son and Carl Peterson spoke very highly of everything that Derrick was able to accomplish both on and off the field.  One of Thomas’ biggest goals was to make it into the NFL Hall of Fame so it was a happy event to see he and his family honored this way but sad that his life ended so early.

Henry was definitely a crowd favorite in his little Chiefs jersey and I got a lot of compliments for “raising my kid right”.  Kurt seemed to really enjoy carrying Henry around and it got him very excited to start taking him to Browns, Cavs, and Indians games.

The NFL has a great tribute video of Derrick Thomas on their website.
